The White Lotus was a standout from last year. HBO’s dark parody of white privilege, “White Privilege,” which is competing for 20 Emmys right now, will return for season 2. Hey, that sounds like “Succession.”

Here is what we about the show so far:

  • It had its October premiere. There is no fixed date yet.
  • The main cast will change, with the exception of Jennifer Coolidge, who will reprise her role as Tanya McQuoid. In season 1, Coolidge gave some of her best non-comedic performances as an emotionally frail heiress. Her season one lover Jon Gries will also make a comeback as a regular cast member.
  • Instead of the White Lotus resort in Hawaii, the scene will be in Sicily this time. Wine will be there.
  • Will Sharpe and Aubrey Plaza portray a couple vacationing anxiously with Theo James and Meghann Fahy, who play another pair. A man recovering from a breakup, played by Michael Imperioli, will be seen traveling with his father (F. Murray Abraham) with his son (Adam DiMarco). Tom Hollander and Haley Lu Richardson are also participating.
  • Season 2 will have unique themes, according to creator-writer Mike White in an interview. He described the tales as “a bedroom farce with teeth” since they are more concerned with gender and sexual jealousy.
  • This time, the White Lotus is replaced with the Taormina Four Seasons San Domenico Palace. Expect to see tonnes of beauty.
