New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on August 11, 2021) follows:
Spectrum TV has a number of sports packages available, including a $5 per month Sports Pack that includes 13 standard channels like ESPN, NBA, and NFL Redzone.
The main advantage of Spectrum TV is that it offers a comprehensive selection of regional sports and out-of-market games. Only NFL Sunday Ticket, which is currently an AT&T exclusive, is missing.
But perhaps the service’s greatest advantage is that it offers free access to the Spectrum TV app with any Spectrum TV plan. The app essentially lets you turn any device into a TV capable of streaming Spectrum.
You can even cast from your phone or tablet to a compatible TV with Chromecast on Android.
Anyway, the Spectrum TV app has not been functioning too well lately and this is pretty clear from multiple reports from its users on Twitter. Some of such reports have been given below.
Some users say that the Spectrum TV app has gone down and is not working at all. Opening it results in prompts asking to wait for a particular timing, a timing that has already passed.
Others are a tad more fortunate and do manage to get the app to work, albeit with plenty of lagging and choppy playback on channels like Bally Sports and others.
The glitches aren’t visual alone as several subscribers also noted audio problems such as the sound breaking up from time to time.
Nonetheless, if you are one of the Spectrum TV subscribers for whom the app is not working or is glitching out, then you will be relieved to know that a fix is in the works.
As clear from the above, Bally Sports and Spectrum are making a concerted effort to restore the streaming service to normalcy.
Thus, you probably wouldn’t have to wait for much longer and the issues will get addressed soon either through an app update, or automatically if they’re server-related.
