If you are an entrepreneur, you have probably come across multiple tools designed to help you start your online business.

One of the most popular tools is Shopify, a platform that allows users to set up an online store from scratch.

Shopify’s selling point is that you can create your store through an intuitive website builder. In other words, deep programming knowledge is not required for your store to be on the internet.

Shopify also provides multiple tools that allow you to monitor every transaction made on your store. In the same way, you can evaluate the growth of your store over time, among other useful features.

However, currently many Shopify users are facing an issue where potential buyers are unable to checkout in their stores as they get stuck in a cart loop.

Shopify checkout process getting stuck in a cart loop

According to multiple reports, the checkout process in Shopify online stores is currently bugged as the process gets stuck on the cart page when trying to complete the transaction.

This is quite a worrying issue for all Shopify-based online store owners. After all, the bug prevents buyers from completing the transaction, causing many potential sales to be lost.

Hey team. I have published three backup themes and they are all producing the same effect. Adding a product to cart cart and hitting checkout has got my site in a constant loop of reloading the cart.

Customer’s can not checkout for some reason at the moment. They can add items to cart but every time you click on checkout, it just re-loads to the cart and will not proceed to checkout … any ideas? Source

Official acknowledgment and potential workaround

Fortunately, the Shopify team is already aware of the issue and working on a fix, but there is still no ETA for everything to work normally again.

In the meantime, there is a workaround that reportedly helps resolve the issue. The workaround consists of modifying a section of the code on the ‘cart’ page:

We will update this story as events unfold.
