Oculus is Meta’s proprietary virtual reality (VR) platform. The company offers an ecosystem of both hardware and software products so that users get a complete experience in one place.

However, some Oculus device users have been facing issues that could potentially affect the integrity of the content in their accounts.

More specifically, some users are experiencing issues when trying to log in. They are being automatically logged out or receive a message saying that their Oculus account no longer exists.

Oculus account automatically logged out or no longer exists for some

According to multiple reports, some Oculus device users are being automatically logged out of their accounts when trying to access.

Some users even receive a message saying that their Oculus account no longer exists, which makes them fear for the integrity of their accounts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11).

This morning I logged on to see that it says my account won’t load, it saved all my stuff like previously visited websites but my games are even though it still says purchased. It also say no internet on browser even though on the oculus menu it says I’m completely connected Source

In some cases, users were even able to create a new Oculus account by trying to log in with their email already in use. This raises even more fears for the integrity of the content of the accounts affected by the issue.

Also, some users suggest that the problem is happening to those who merged their Oculus account with a Facebook account.

Oculus team is aware

Fortunately, the Oculus team is already aware of the account issues and is working on it. But, there are no details yet on an estimated arrival date for a fix.

Update 1 (March 11)

06:11 pm (IST): Oculus support on Twitter has confirmed that they are currently working to fix the issue with account log-outs and missing app libraries.

Moreover, they have restored the majority of accounts and are working to resolve this issue for everyone else.

Update 2 (March 12)

04:55 pm (IST): Meta Quest support on Twitter has confirmed that the majority of account issues have been resolved.

Support said that the users who have created a new account while the original was unavailable may still be having issues. Moreover, devs are currently working to resolve the issue completely.
