New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on September 1, 2022) follows:
Many 4K Video Downloader users have been reporting that they are unable to download videos as the program keeps crashing when parsing a video.
This issue appears to have popped up at least a couple of hours ago and there’s still no fix at the time of this writing.
We’ve shared some user reports below for reference:
According to user reports on Reddit and Twitter, 4K Video Downloader keeps crashing while trying to download videos from YouTube specifically.
Some have confirmed that the program lets them download videos from Vimeo and Dailymotion without any hassle.
This has led many to believe that the issue isn’t with the 4K Video Downloader servers, and instead, could be caused by a change on YouTube’s end.
One individual alleges that this could be due to YouTube’s captcha verification that has recently started popping up a lot.
The developers of the program are yet to acknowledge the issue publicly. So it’s anyone’s guess as to how long the problem will last.
Of course, if the issue was caused due to an intentional tweak with YouTube, the developers will have to work around the change to fix the issue.
That said, we’ll keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments.
