A quick look at the micro-blogging site Twitter conveys there are many other affected by the same issue.For a quick glance, here’s how some of the complainants word the problem:
Any official word on the matter? Negative, as yet. We’re yet to locate a word from the official service channels or their social media handles. AWS Service Health Dashboard, however, conveys no service disruption at the moment.
Rest assured, we’re keeping a continuous tab on all related developments, and will update this page with relevant info as and when we come across any. So in case you’re encountering the problem discussed here, stay hooked for updates.
Update 1 (July 12)
9:38 am (IST): The issues have been resolved according to the company’s support team on Twitter.
A few users have also confirmed that the service is working for them.
Update 2 (July 12)
Downdetector conveys the service is not working once again in some of the regions as can be seen in the map below.
Update 3 (July 13)
It appears the issue has now been fixed as we don’t see any more complaints on the social media platforms like Twitter. Even Down Detector doesn’t show any user reports or outages. So it’s safe to say the issue has likely been addressed.
Update 4 (July 14)
In response, we have shared with them our basis of highlighting the AWS outage, and are awaiting more details from them. If and when we get a response, this article will be updated accordingly.

IST 22:15 – It’s difficult to say if this is related, but Akamai, a popular content delivery network provider, has confirmed that it’s service is suffering a major outage at the moment.

08:45 am (IST): Reports on Twitter (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and Downdetector indicate that AWS is currently down and not working. This in turn has led to a lot of services that rely on AWS, such as HBO Max, to go under as well.
