It all started on 17 February 2022, when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sparked outrage in the Canadian House and on Twitter for sure. Trudeau made the comments during the daily questioning period in the lower chamber of the Canadian Parliament after facing criticism from the Conservative Member of Parliament Melissa Lantsman, who become the first Jewish woman elected to her party last October.

Latman said, ” Same Prime Minister, six years later as he fans the flames of an unjustified national emergency,” she further said, “When did the prime minister lose his way?” she asked the speaker, the parliament was echo by claps.”

To this Liberal Party’s member PM, Trudeau said, “Conservative Party members can stand with people who wave swastikas, they can stand with people who wave the Confederate flag,”

“I am a strong Jewish woman and a member of this House and a descendant of Holocaust survivors and … it’s never been singled out, and I’ve never been made to feel less,” said Lantsman.

“Except for today, when the prime minister accused me of standing with swastikas. I think he owes me an apology. I’d like an apology and I think he owes an apology to all members of this House.”

I think the Prime Minister should think long and hard about his own history before singling out a Jewish Member of Parliament and falsely accusing me of standing with a Swastika. What a disgraceful statement unbecoming of anyone in public office – he owes me an apology. #cdnpoli

Over the Swastika, many Indian people started getting angry over social media and “Swastika” got trending. People are showing their aggression by saying, “many people don’t even know the difference between Swastika and the Nazi’s hooked cross (Hakenkreuz).

The swastika is an In Hinduism, the right-facing symbol symbolizing Surya prosperity and good luck, while Hakenkreuz is a Nazi symbol. In the Federal Republic of Germany, it is illegal to display the Hakenkreuz or swastika, which was the central symbol of the Nazi movement and the central motif in the national flag in the Third Reich.

It is not a swastikaIt is hakenkreuz – Hooked CrossCall it what it is, please. Your ignorance is turning into hatred towards a community that has nothing to do with the symbol in the first place.
