New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on June 22, 2020) follows:
Google surprised many when it announced a total of 23 smartphones to participate in the Android Q beta testing exercise back in 2019. Among these phones was the OPPO Reno, the only one from the Chinese company that took part in the program.
Other Chinese vendors like Vivo and Xiaomi had multiple devices in the program, a book the BBK Electronics company seems to have borrowed a page from with respect to the latest Android R beta testing program.
Just so you know, Android R is the internal codename for the upcoming Android 11 OS. Google released the first public beta this month and so far, several vendors have already announced devices that will be participating in the beta testing exercise.
The likes of Xiaomi Mi 10/Mi 10 Pro, Vivo NEX 3S, Vivo iQOO 3 (4G/5G), and OnePlus 8/Pro already received their Android 11 beta treats while the Realme X50 Pro gets it next month.
OPPO, on the other hand, had promised to push the update to Android 11 beta to owners of the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro soon. At the time, there was no date, but now we have one. And it’s today.
