There has been lots of cheating and misuse of Pokémon Go using various tricks. But Nintendo and Niantic have covered many of those ways and banned players who commit them. There had been many debates among players about whether we can have multiple accounts or use multiple devices to play Pokémon Go. In this article, we will go deep finding whether we are allowed to use multiple accounts and multiple devices to play the game. This will clarify all your doubts regarding the issue.

Will Multiple Accounts or Multiple Devices be banned?

According to Nintendo and Niantic, using multiple devices to play Pokémon Go is allowed. But still, there is no clear indication of whether we can use multiple devices simultaneously using the same network to access the game. However, if you want to use your mobile phone to play while travelling and use your tablet to play at home is completely allowed, and there is no restriction on that. But you can’t use multiple accounts using the same device. It is completely prohibited, and if you do so, Nintendo has the rights to ban you from the game. Nintendo has mentioned that owning 2 accounts is a form of cheating and against the rules of Pokémon Go. They encourage only to have 1 account per 1 player. It doesn’t matter the accounts owned by you or even your friend’s accounts. It’s considered a form of cheating to misuse the system.

Different perspectives

However, many players still use multiple devices to play Pokémon Go simultaneously without any issue.  This is a temptation for other players to play on various devices using multiple accounts simultaneously, but you never know when you get caught and banned from the Pokémon completely. Recently a YouTuber has used 6 phones simultaneously to play Pokémon Go in a live stream, indicating that there is still a small chance to use multiple accounts. This concept is somewhat an injustice to the players who play the game honestly and it violates good practices. In some forums, players state that unless you filmed somebody battling with multiple accounts at once and sent it to Niantic, you can’t prove it. Still, the debate is going on, and we recommend sticking with one account for your safe.
