The Naatu Naatu song from the movie RRR won the Golden Globe Awards in 2023 beating Rihanna.
The Golden Globe Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles this year. These award has been special this year for India in general and RRR movie in particular as Naatu Naatu song from the movie won the best song award. This song has been choreographed by Prem Rakshith, with MM Keeravaani being the music director. The lyrics were penned by Chandrabose and the song was sung by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj.
According to ANI, ‘Naatu Naatu’ was shot in August 2021 in Ukraine outside Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s official residence.
MM Keeravaani received the award while director SS Rajamouli, and actors Junior NTR and Ram Charan cheered from the crowds. Rihanna congratulated the ‘RRR’ team for the win after she lost the award to Naatu Naatu. In his acceptance speech, MM Keeravaani thanked the Golden Globe for the honor and said “Thank you very much for this prestigious award: This award belongs to SS Rajamouli for his vision, I thank him for constantly believing and supporting my work. Nt Rama Rao and Ram Charan who danced with full stamina.”
This win is a moment of great pride for India and for team RRR as The Golden Globes honors the best in cinema and are voted for by members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
