Google is welcoming users in India to attend a virtual New Year’s Eve party on YouTube in 2021. Named ‘Hello 2021 India,’ the virtual party will premiere on YouTube on December 31 at 11 pm IST and feature performances by celebrities such as actor Tiger Shroff, rapper Badshah, and singer Jonita Gandhi. The simulated party is hosted by the comedian Zakir Khan. Google has also launched a popper symbol to mark the New Year in Quest.

The blue and yellow popper that emerges as you type ‘New Year’s Eve’ in Google’s search bar drops confetti that fills the screen for a few seconds. It even emits a pop-up sound similar to the real party popper. There appears to be no limit to the number of occasions that users will press on a party popper and experience a simulated celebration.

The virtual New Year’s Eve party on YouTube, meanwhile, can be reached by opening a new Google Search page and clicking on the link below ‘Google Search’ and ‘I’m Feeling Lucky’ which says ‘Hello 2021: Enter YouTube’s New Year’s Eve Party tomorrow.’ You can also directly access the connection by clicking here or searching for ‘Hello 2021 India’ on YouTube.

The Interactive New Year’s Eve Party is organized by YouTube Originals. Besides the names listed above, there will also be performances by the singers Aastha Gill, Benny Dayal, and Akasa, the music band Thaikkudam Bridge, and the actress Alaya F. You can also set a reminder for the virtual event by clicking on the Set Reminder popup that appears when you click on the YouTube link. Already a live chat began on YouTube for the event.
