New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on April 07, 2021) follows:

The Motorola Moto G9 Play, aka Moto G9 in India, launched towards the tail-end of August last year. While the names differ, both these devices share identical specifications.

And since the two phones come pre-installed with Android 10, they are currently in line to bag the update to Android 11. To know more about the upcoming OS update, you can head to our dedicated tracker.

That said, as Motorola Moto G9 and G9 Play users await Android 11, some are experiencing ghost touch issues on their devices for a few months.

Some Motorola Moto G9 and G9 Play users have claimed that the ghost touch issue pops up at random while others claim that it only becomes an issue while making phone calls.

A user has also shared video proof of the ghost touch issue on their devices. Check it out below:

Motorola has been asking users to visit the nearest service center for help.

However, in a recent comment, a Motorola Admin has confirmed that the ghost touch issue during calls on the Moto G9 and G9 Play will be fixed via an upcoming software update.

Unfortunately, those who are experiencing ghost touch issues elsewhere may still have to visit the service center. It’s possible that the fix may go live with the upcoming Android 11 update for the Moto G9 and Moto G9 Play.

As usual, we will keep track of the situation and will post an update once new details emerge. So stay tuned to PiunikaWeb for more information on this and other similar issues.
