Jessica Alba has joined Netflix’s forthcoming series “Confessions On the 7:45” as a star and executive producer.

The drama is based on author Lisa Unger’s international bestseller thriller novel of the same name, according to Deadline.

Unger’s work will be adapted by Charise Castro Smith, co-writer and co-director of Disney’s Oscar-winning film “Encanto.”

She’ll also be the showrunner and executive producer alongside Alba and Michael Rotenberg and Oly Obst of 3 Arts.

The plot revolves around a working mother (Alba) who encounters a stranger on a train on her way home. As her life unravels and betrayals surface, she wonders if we can ever fully know those closest to us.

“This was a book I couldn’t put down. “I was intrigued the moment I read the words, ‘If you want to conceal a secret, first hide it from yourself,’” Alba added.

“This book is about burying secrets and the humiliation we bear until the truth reveals us.” I can’t think of a more enthralling person with whom to collaborate on this endeavour. Charise is insanely skilled and understands every element of these characters and their web of lies to a tee “she continued.

Alba’s second Netflix collaboration is “Confessions On the 7:45.” She will appear in Mouly Surya’s next action film “Trigger Warning,” directed by the streamer.
