Web-based streaming service SonyLIV has partnerships with upGrad, Acko General Insurance, Black Dog Drinking Soda, Cashfree Payments, Flipkart, and Dell Technologies. Sony’s own content production department, StudioNEXT, came up with the idea.
The corporation did not specify whether or not season 2 of the show was in the works.
In the wake of the problems surrounding Grover, Sony has yet to answer Thetechoutlook’s questions about whether he will be removed or replaced. Grover has been under criticism since an audio clip of him threatening a bank executive at Kotak Wealth Management, a subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, went viral on Twitter on January 5th. Grover was overheard berating the private banker for failing to get a loan for him to buy shares in Nykaa’s initial public offering during the claimed phone discussion.
Kotak Mahindra Bank said in a statement on January 9 that it was considering legal action against Grover. Grover has been on leave since the squabble between him and Kotak Mahindra Bank became public, according to a Thetechoutlook story.
Shark Tank India, based on an American reality program in which entrepreneurs make business presentations to a panel of five investors or sharks who decide whether or not to invest in their businesses, has generated a lot of attention on Twitter. Investors and startup entrepreneurs have been discussing on the show, which has also secured various sponsorship deals for TV station Sony Entertainment Television with edtech firm upGrad, e-commerce site Flipkart, and vehicle manufacturer KIA Motors.
