Amber Heard has refuted rumors that she has been fired from the Aquaman sequel.

A jury ruled in favor of her ex-husband on June 1 in the defamation case the 36-year-old has been involved in with Johnny Depp, which has drawn the attention of fans from all over the world.

Depp, 58, received $10 million (£8 million) in compensatory damages and an additional $5 million (£4 million) in punitive penalties.

Heard claimed that her legal team had unjustly accused her of making up allegations against the actor. After supporting one of her counterclaims, she was granted compensatory damages of $2 million (£1.6 million).

She played Mera in the 2018 blockbuster, which outperformed The Dark Knight ($1.08 billion) to become Warners-highest-grossing DC’s film ever with over $1.1 billion (£913.97 million) in worldwide box office earnings.

Even though the sequel’s filming is already over and it’s scheduled to hit theatres in the UK on March 17, 2023, rumors that Heard had been fired and will be replaced surfaced on Tuesday night.

A representative for the actress, however, promptly dispelled the rumors, telling DailyMail.com that “the rumor mill continues as it has from day one – inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane.”

The rumors surfaced on the same day Heard re-entered the public eye during her first televised interview following the verdict.

The actress pressed her accusations of abuse from Depp in an exclusive interview with 50-year-old NBC Today correspondent Savannah Guthrie.

When asked if she stands by her testimony, Heard said: ” Of course. To my dying day, I will stand by every word of my testimony.”

She also added:

“I never had to instigate it, I responded to it. When you’re living in violence and it becomes normal – as I testified to – you have to adapt.

“As I testified on the stand about this, when your life is at risk not only will you take the blame for things you shouldn’t take the blame for but when you are in an abusive dynamic; psychologically, emotionally and physically, you don’t have the resources that say you or I do with the luxury of saying this is black and white. Because it’s anything but when you are living in it.”

Heard said the court was “not immune to that” and that the trial was unfair because of the online support Depp received.
