He added that Blade Runner 2099 will maintain the intellect, themes, and spirit of its previous incarnations’ films, they are optimistic after working with Ridley, Alcon Entertainment, Scott Free Productions, and the incredibly talented Silka Luisa. We also came to know from the sources that the next web series is Alcon’s most recent Blade Runner endeavor. Alcon purchased the film, television, and ancillary brand rights to Blade Runner in 2011 so they could create prequels and sequels to the renowned science-fiction thriller from 1982. In the original movie, Harrison Ford played former LAPD officer Rick Deckard, who in the year 2019 is charged with locating bioengineered replicants.
Additionally, after purchasing the rights to the science-fiction franchise, Alcon has already produced, financed, and made two highly regarded productions in the genre: the 2021 anime series Blade Runner: Black Lotus and the Academy Award-winning 2017 movie Blade Runner 2049.
