There are many new Pokémon when a new one appears. Additionally, there have been many monster introductions in the run-up to Pokémon Violet and Scarlet, with the most latest one being an artist who is a somewhat isolated individual and remains awake all night.

We all absolutely want a David Attenborough-narrated show on pocket monsters after learning about Grafaiai in a smart documentary-style short video that was released today. The toxic monkey Pokemon is, obviously, adorable, but when you look closer, as a lot of its cute contemporaries, things turn out to be quite gloomy. The official explanation is as follows:

The moody pokemon Grafaiai has a fastidious nature. Although it prefers to go alone rather than in packs, it frequently engages in territorial disputes with other Pokémon. Grafaiai is an expert at attacking enemies with its poisonous saliva, which it uses to spit at them or slash at them after encasing its claws with the saliva. The colour of the saliva depends on what the pokémon consumes.

As a nocturnal creature, Grafaiai licks its fingers and hands to coat them in poison before using them to etch designs on the trees in its domain. Because bug pokemon are attracted to the sweet, fragrant aroma of the saliva, the toxic saliva it uses to paint paralyses them.

It’s very likely that Grafaiai is intended to be a not-so-subtle satire of the modern art scene, but one thing is for certain— We want him on my team with the bread dog.

On November 18, Pokémon Violet and Scarlet will be released on the Nintendo Switch, adding additional elements including trainer schools and Pokémon that can ride motorcycles.
