For season 2 of “Chucky,” our favorite tiny murderer is back with more bloodshed, body counts, and inappropriate language. In the series, Chucky brutalizes the residents of Hackensack, New Jersey, while both new and seasoned heroes attempt to stop him. This is a direct and chronological sequel of the events in the “Child’s Play” series. After being found at a yard sale by the bullied teen Jake Wheeler, Chucky invaded the Wheeler household in the first season, leading to the failure of his master plot to wreak havoc on children’s hospitals across the nation. Less than a year has passed since the end of season 1, which left viewers wondering what would become of characters like Tiffany Valentine, Nica Pierce, and Chucky. Here is all the information you need to know before “Chucky” season 2 premiers this fall while we wait for our pal til’ the end to return.

Chucky season 2: Release date

Chucky season 2 will launch on October 5, 2022, at 9:00 p.m. on USA and Syfy, just like it did for season 1. The show will air new episodes once a week and eventually end up on Peacock after the season finale. If you’re a cord-cutter like me, you can use the program offered by the subscription streamer Sling last year. It gives you access to both stations’ live cable broadcasts. Another thing to bear in mind while watching “Chucky” is to subscribe to Syfy’s YouTube account since they frequently provide exclusive preview snippets, behind-the-scenes interviews, and other extra content to keep fans’ Chucky cups full in between episodes.

What to look forward to in Chucky season 2?

It has been revealed that the second season will also see the return of the “Seed of Chucky” star and genderqueer icon Glen/Glenda. This will hopefully put all the questions the season 1 finale raised to rest. The doll, who is the offspring of Chucky and Tiffany, served as the focal point of one of season one’s most memorable scenes. Jake Wheeler, a young gay kid, considers having a genderfluid child after Chucky tells him he has no problem with him being queer. Chucky responds, “I’m not a monster, Jake,” to Jake’s amazement upon learning that he is accepting. The sociopath-killing doll claims this to be true. The introduction of Glen/Glenda in season 2 will encourage discussions on gender identity, similar to how season 1 explored the difficulties of growing up as a queer kid.

The mayhem will also undoubtedly be brought by “Chucky,” of course. Devon Sawa, the star of season one, is returning despite being murdered (twice), and I secretly hope that this develops into a recurring joke where Sawa returns every season as a new character only to be killed off by Chucky in peculiar ways. Put your money on whether or not they can top Chucky’s Hello Kitty outfit from season one given that we know we’ll get a Halloween episode again based on the teaser.

Chucky season 2: Cast

The following is the cast:

  • Zackary Arthur as Jake Wheeler
  • Björgvin Arnarson as Devon Evans
  • Alyvia Alyn Lind as Lexy Cross
  • Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce
  • Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay
  • Christine Elise as Kyle
  • Barbara Alyn Woods as Mayor Michelle Cross

An exciting new addition to the cast is Meg Tilly from “Psycho 2,” “Body Snatchers,” Gina Gershon from “Bound,” “Killer Joe,” Joe Pantoliano from “Memento,” Tony Nappo from “Saw II,” and Sutton Stracke from “Bound”.

Many of the new characters are real-world acquaintances of Jennifer Tilly, adding to the “Chucky” legend in “real life.” As was already stated, Lara Jean Chorostecki from NBC’s “Hannibal” has joined in an unidentified capacity, non-binary actor Lachlan Watson has joined the cast, and Devon Sawa will return to portray a new character. Lachlan Watson will represent the genderfluid Glen/Glenda.
