Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the theatre release of Sanjay Leela Bansali directed period drama, Gangbai. While the promotions are going on full speed, her even something more, according to the report, “Darling,” which is going to be her debut film on OTT. Alongside Shark Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment production.
It will be released directly on Netflix this summer. The film is directed by Jasmeet K Reena stars Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew and Vijay Varma. It is a dark comedy and the markers felt that the film will be able to grab the targeted audience through the OTT medium. The film is about a mother-daughter relationship, Shefali will play Alia’s mother in the film, whereas Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew will play a key role. Music is composed by Vishal Bharadwaj. The conversation was on with multiple players and it’s finally Netflix, who has bagged the exclusive streaming rights. The Films has been sold for a sum of Rs 80 crore, thereby making it one of the biggest deals for a female-led film,” said the report.
Darling aside, the other Alia Bhatt films include the soon to be released Gangubai followed by RRR, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra alongside Ranveer.
