Modern voice assistants are not just limited to controlling devices. They also offer some additional features that expand their functionality.
For instance, Alexa Question of the Day (QOTD) is a game that challenges users to trivia. The trivia questions can be about any topic, and the more correct answers the player achieves, the more points they accumulate.
But, there is currently a ‘reset’ issue where Alexa Question of the Day player history is deleted or missing.
Alexa Question of the Day history missing due to a ‘reset bug’
According to reports, the progress of many Alexa Question of the Day players is now missing due to the reset. Now the results history is completely empty, and there are users who lost even years of progress.
Hi. QOTD and Music have both been reset somehow. I was up to almost 10,000 points, and high up on the FL. state leader board. But now it says i am a new player.
With Music, it is asking me to sign in and set up my preferences, etc. Something has been done on the server-side and caused my data to be deleted it seems like.
I have been playing QOTD for 3years now with the family almost every night. My 9yo is very, very disappointed. Source
Are there limits to the number of questions or the duration of question of the day? I have been playing for a couple of years and derived a great deal of pleasure from seeing the statistics in the different categories after playing each morning. Today Alexa welcomed me to question of the day (not “welcome back”), gave me a tutorial on what was involved and started me off with Question #1…a question I had answered a long time ago. So, it reset itself to the beginning. Source

This issue has been reported to our advanced technicians, and they are working on a resolution. Please note that they have advised it best to hold off playing the skill, until the issue is resolved. Also please do not disable/re-enable the skll, by doing so you will be assigned a new userid and there will be no way to restore your progress. Source

05:05 pm (IST): The issue with Alexa’s Question of the Day skill has been fixed as confirmed by a staff member on the company’s forums.
