The second season of Alchemy of Souls has been scheduled. Although Jeon So Min performed a fantastic job playing Mu Deok, the main character, in the first season, it was revealed that Go Yoon Jung would take over in the second.
The reason wasn’t given, but given that Go Yoon Jung had previously made an appearance in episode 1, it’s possible that it was planned from the start. Her soul was the one that wandered into Mu Deok’s body. For Season 2, the rest of the cast will be involved.
Alchemy Of Souls, written by the renowned screenplay team known as the Hong Sisters (composed of Hong Jung-Eun and Mi-ran), is set in Daeho, a fictional South Korean kingdom that looks to be partially modelled on the country’s Joseon Dynasty. The first season of the show focused on the beginnings and ascent of Jang Wook (Lee Jae-Wook), Daeho’s most potent sorcerer, who also had a sinister secret involving illegal soul-shifting. Director Park Joon-Hwa revealed that the second season of Alchemy Of Souls had always been planned during a press conference for the programme before the first season’s premiere in June. He told the reporters, “There were so many modifications and alterations in our tale, I thought I wanted to add a human story in it. The good news is that a new season of K-drama is coming.
