Ajay Devgn responded to Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep’s remark against India’s official language on Twitter. Kiccha Sudeep sparked a discussion about language when he declared that Hindi is no longer our national language. Ajay’s retort was written entirely in Hindi, indicating that he vehemently disagreed with the South superstar.
“You mentioned a pan India film was made in Kannada,” Kiccha Sudeep replied. I’d like to make a little change. Hindi has lost its status as a national language. Today, they (Bollywood) are making pan-India films. They are attempting (but failing) to gain success by dubbing in Telugu and Tamil. Today, we’re making films that are going to be seen all over the world.”

During a premiere event for his picture, R: Deadliest Gangster Ever, he commented about the success of South films even in the Hindi-speaking belt.
“My brother, if Hindi is not our national language, then why do you distribute your movies in your mother tongue by dubbing them in Hindi?” said Ajay Devgan in response to the language debate. Our mother tongue and national language, Hindi, was, is, and always will be. Jan Gan Man,” he says.
Kiccha Sudeep has also responded to Ajay saying that whatever he said was taken out of context, “Hello @ajaydevgn sir.. the context to why i said tat line is entirely different to the way I guess it has reached you. Probably wil emphasis on why the statement was made when I see you in person. It wasn’t to hurt, Provoke or to start any debate. Why would I sir.”

To which Ajay wrote, “Hi @KicchaSudeep You are a friend. thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding. I’ve always thought of the film industry as one. We respect all languages and we expect everyone to respect our language as well. Perhaps, something was lost in translation”
