The Oxford Union has been labelled “Hindu phobic” by director Vivek Agnihotri of “The Kashmir Files.” His remarks came as the director’s event in Europe on a humanity tour has been “cancelled” by the union. Agnihotri vowed to sue them for the cancellation of his event.
“Yet another Hindu voice is curbed at HINDUPHOBIC Oxford Union. They have cancelled me. In reality, they cancelled Hindu Genocide & Hindu students who are a minority at Oxford Univ. The president elect is a Paksitani,” Vivek Agnihotri wrote.
“Pl share & support me in this most difficult fight,” Agnihotri wrote on Twitter.
The director of “The Kashmir Files” posted a message on Twitter “He also included a video in which he explained the situation.
Vivek Agnihotri’s tweet drew a lot of attention from the internet. Some have labelled the act “shameful,” while others have stated that they are “just on side” of the filmmaker in this fight. One user declares that he is “ashamed of being an Oxford alumni.” “.. Another user was disappointed by the experience.
One of the users requested that the filmmaker leave Oxford and travel to Jammu to assist Kashmiri Pandits who are “faced with challenges and are constantly threatened by extremists.”
Other users, on the other hand, disagree with Vivek Agnihotri. Oxford has a special department for Hindu studies, according to one user, and they have done research on the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. Another commenter defended the union for refusing to let the director speak.
“Hate should never be given a platform. They did the right thing,” he wrote.
