Used by professionals as well as normal users, Adobe Photoshop is the most well-known photo editing software of all time. Developed by Adobe Inc., the raster graphics editor was initially launched in 1990.

The software uses the PSD and PSB file formats with the ability to edit images in multiple layers. While Photoshop has limited support for vector graphics, users can easily expand on the same using community-developed add-ons.

Unsurprisingly, like all software products available in the market, Photoshop users do face some bugs like the issue where the grid was not centered for some and inconsistent keyboard input for dialogs after a recent update.

And it looks like Adobe Photoshop users are facing another problem that is causing the Liquify Tool to crash on Windows. Many say that using the tool several times in one session is causing the app to stop working followed by an ‘Assertion Failed!’ error.

The issue was initially reported back in September of 2020 on Adobe Photoshop 21.2.2.

Adobe had fixed the issue back then with the Photoshop 21.1 update. But fresh reports suggest that the bug is affecting users once again.

Thankfully, Adobe was quick to acknowledge the issue and said that they are working on a fix. However, there is no ETA on when it will be resolved.

Update 1 (March 02)

01:11 pm (IST): An Adobe Employee has confirmed that this issue is fixed in the latest Photoshop 23.2 version.
