Actor Will Smith was on Spotlight for his surprising act of Punching comedian Chris Rock on the stage of 94th Academy Award and winning an Academy Award for his role as Richard Williams in King Richard film. This could be the awkward and most unusual moment in the history of the Oscars Academy award.
Comedian Rock made a Joke about Will Smith’s wife Jade Pinkett Smith, ” Jada, I love ya, GI Jane 2 can’t wait to see it”, Smith was laughing at first when Jada who was sitting near smith rolled her eyes, he automatically stormed the stage and Punched Rock right across his face. Jada has been suffering from alopecia, a disease that causes hair loss. In December 2021, Jada appeared in a video with a shaved head and posted it on Instagram saying that she was going to make a little crown.
After the Punch, Rock took moments to recollect himself from this incident said, “It was just a Joke” and after getting back to his seat Smith warned him twice not to tell his wife’s name from his mouth. To this Rock replied,” That was the greatest night in the History of Television”
Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry comforted Will smith, then Diddy spoke, ” Will and Smith we are going to solve that like family at the afterparty”

Moments later, Will Smith won the Oscar for his Richard Williams role in King Richard film. Smith gave a heartfelt speech about the achievement, ” In this time in my life, at this moment, I am overwhelmed by what God is calling on me to do and to be in this world.”
Smith continued, ” I’m being called on In my life to love people and to protect people and to be a river to my people. I know to do what we do you’ve got to be able to take abuse, you’ve got to be able to take people to talk crazy about you, in this business you got to be able to have people disrespecting you and you’ve got to smile and pretend that’s ok”
He thanked his co-actors of the film along with Denzel’s advice for life, ” Denzel said to me in your highest moment be careful, that’s when the devil comes from you. I want to be a vessel for love. I want to say thank you to venus and Serena and the entire Williams family for entrusting me with your story.”
Finally, Actor Smith apologized for the act, ” I want to apologise to the Academy, I want to apologise to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment. I’m not crying for winning an award it’s about being able to shine a light on all the people the entire cast and crew of King Richard and the entire Williams family. I look like a crazy father but love will make you do crazy things.”
