Police in Bengaluru claimed on Monday that Bollywood star Siddhanth Kapoor and four others were arrested for allegedly using drugs during a rave party in a city hotel.
“It has been proven that Siddhant Kapoor, the son of Bollywood actress Shakti Kapoor, used drugs. In the blood test report, he tested positive for narcotics. As a result, he’s been taken to the Ulsoor police station,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Bheemashankar S Guled.
The rave party was taking place at a fancy hotel on MG Road on Sunday night when a police team stormed the location, according to authorities.
Four additional people have been arrested, according to police sources, in addition to the 37-year-old, who has appeared in films such as ‘Shoot out at Wadala’ and ‘Ugly’ and worked as an assistant director on films such as ‘Dhol.’
Approximately 35 individuals attended the gathering to which Siddhanth was invited.
They were all put through medical examinations. Five of them tested positive for narcotics, including actor Shraddha Kapoor’s brother.
The party area also yielded seven ‘Ecstasy’ pills and a packet of marijuana, according to police.
The accused have been charged under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Sections 22A, 22B, and 27B.
In the year 2020, police discovered drug usage in a part of the Kannada cinema industry. They then detained actors Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani, as well as Aditya Alva, the son of late minister Jeevaraj Alva.
