Kaikala Satyanarayana, 86, was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad on Saturday morning in a severe condition. He has been placed on a ventilator and is being monitored.
“Kaikala Satyanarayana was taken to Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, today morning at 7.30 am with fever and sleepiness,” the hospital said in a statement. Following a Covid sequel, he has been on breathing assistance and has a tracheotomy at home. He is suffering from acute septic shock as well as multiorgan failure. Doctors are treating him, and every attempt is being made to improve his health. The situation is severe, with a terrible prognosis and projected outcome.”
On October 30, the actor was rushed to the hospital after collapsing in his home.
Kaikala’s most recent films include NTR Kathanayakudu and Maharshi. As an actor, he is known as Navarasa Natana Sarvabhouma and has appeared in over 650 films. He was born on July 25, 1935, in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district.
Sipayi Kuthuru was Kaikala’s first employer in 1959. In the 1960 film Kanaka Durga Pooja Mahima, director B Vittalacharya placed him as the antagonist.
He went on to make a name for himself as a multi-faceted solo hero, antagonist, and character actor.
