A 24-year old Kshama Bindu from Vadodara is all set to marry herself on 11th June with all wedding rituals.
However, it can hardly be believed but starting from Pheras to wearing a vermilion, the wedding will have it all excluding Baraat.
In an interview with TOI Kshama mentioned that, ‘never wanted to get married. But I did want to become a bride. So I decided to marry myself.’
Kshama also searched on the internet for such a wedding to take place in our country, but she couldn’t.
Maybe she’s the first person to set an example of such kind of self love in our country.
Additionally, she mentioned that, ‘Self marriage is a commitment to be there for oneself. It’s also an act of self-acceptance.’
‘People marry someone who they love, I love myself and hence this wedding’, she explained.
During the interview, he also stated that people might comprehend self marriage as irrelevant, ‘But what I am actually trying to portray is woman matters’.
Her parents are open minded and are supporting their daughter’s self marriage with all blessings.
She’ll also have her honeymoon in Goa for two weeks as a post marriage plan.
