Arya Iyer, a prominent novelist, is spotted entering a ‘prayer room’ at the Delhi airport to find a space to stretch because he has been suffering from back discomfort. Inside the room, another middle-aged man is observed doing Namaz. The other individual becomes upset as Madhavan begins his stretching exercises. He comes to a halt in his Namaz and informs Aryan that this is a prayer room, not an exercise room.

Madhavan explains that his back hurts and that he needs to stretch before getting on the plane. He asks the man to be a little more courteous, but the Namaz man simply refuses, telling Madhavan that stretching activities are not permitted within a prayer room.

The Namaz guy even complains to the airport employees, who inform Madhavan that he is not permitted to exercise in that space because it is just for prayers

Madhavan simply begins stretching exercises while singing the Gayatri Mantra at this time. The Namaz guy, who can no longer argue that Madhavan isn’t ‘praying,’ is perplexed and enraged.

Throughout the flight, the Namaz guy is seen to be visibly agitated in the series. He even continues to argue with Madhavan and is nasty to an air hostess who is conversing with Madhavan.

Manu Joseph, a columnist, and writer is the creator of the ‘Decoupled’ series. Chetan Bhagat, the series’ author, also appears in various scenes.
