42 Dugg’s patented “Free Dem Boyz” tagline now includes himself. The Detroit rapper, who is signed to Lil Baby and Yo Gotti, was allegedly arrested as soon as he stepped off an aircraft in Memphis.
According to The Detroit News, Dugg, whose official name is Dion Hayes, failed to turn himself in to a West Virginia federal prison camp last month to fulfil a 6-month term for unlawful handgun possession.
The 27-year-old rising sensation, who was recently chosen to XXL’s Freshman list for 2021, hasn’t exactly been living in hiding. He launched his collaborative album “Last Ones Left” with Collective Music Group labelmate EST Gee in April and has been busy filming music videos for it.
Such legal turbulence might derail what was shaping up to be a promising rap career, as it did with Pooh Shiesty, who just received a 63-month term.
