Raj Kundra pornography case
This was the biggest expose of the industry when Shilpa Shetty’s husband was behind the bars for connection with the pornography industry. The case was registered under the Mumbai Crime branch. During the raid on Madh Island bungalow, police had saved a woman who after filed a complaint in the case. The inquiry into the case eventually led to the arrest of businessman Raj Kundra on July 19, five months after the racket was busted. Since pornography is illegal in India, the whole business of adult film content was illegal. Actress Sherlyn Chopra was one of the witnesses who gave her statement in Raj Kundra’s production and distribution of pornographic content on digital platforms.
Aryan Khan drugs case
King Khan’s son Aryan Khan was under arrest for being at a drugs party on a cruise ship. He was arrested along with his friend Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha on 4th October. On October 8 he was denied bail, his bail was further postponed to October 20. Some of his WhatsApp chats were also disclosed in the court and media regarding his trade with drugs, which took a different angle in the case. He was finally given bail on 28 October.

Kareena and Saif were brutally trolled for naming their second child Jehangir. Earlier in July, Kareena revealed her second baby’s name as ‘Jeh’. Later the full name of the baby was revealed in Kareena’s pregnancy book titled ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible. The name was in controversy because some social media users were offended as Jahangir” was the one who on 16 June 1606, ordered Guru Arjan Dev Ji, fifth Sikh Guru tortured for 5 days and killed the Guru as he refused to stop preaching his message of God as started by Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Karthik Aryan leaves Dostana 2
Karthik Aryan exits Dostana 2 without even completing the shoot of the movie. Dharma Productions had shared, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence- we will be recasting Dostana 2 directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon.” Kartik felt he was underpaid for the film, as he was definitely the biggest selling point of the film. Kartik also developed some issues with Janhvi Kapoor, due to their break up and it all turned into a big fight, things took to a different tangent.
Income tax raid on Tapsee Pannu’s house
On March 3, as part of an income tax inquiry against the now-defunct production house Phantom Films, the Income-tax department raided 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune. Quests were conducted at the homes and services of Taapsee, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and others, including Reliance Entertainment group CEO Shibhasish Sarkar. Taapsee responded to reports that cash bills of ₹ 5 crores were recovered from her house, maintaining that the Income Duty department didn’t mention her name while making this statement, and it was the media that made the connection.
Controversy on Family Man 2
The Family Man season 2 was into a major debate with several demanding a ban on the release of the show defaming it of hurting Tamil sentiments and projecting the community into a poor light. Meanwhile, in the statement shared by actor Manoj Bajpayee, director duo Raj and DK said, “Some assumptions and impressions have been made based on just a couple of shots in the trailer. Many of our lead cast members, as well as key members of the creative & writing team, are Tamilians. We are very cognizant of the sentiments of the Tamil people and Tamil culture and have nothing but the utmost love and respect towards our Tamil people.” Later actor Samantha Akkineni, who played the role of a Sri Lankan Tamil liberation fighter in The Family Man season 2, has apologised for ‘hurting anyone’s sentiments.
Controversy on Tandav
The audience felt that the show was insulting the Hindu Gods and Goddesses, and also mocking the religions. An FIR was filed against the director and writer of the web series Tandav. Celebrities like Kangana Ranaut and others had also slammed the makers for depicting a Hindi God in a bad light. Director Ali Abbas Zafar then issued an apology on behalf of the cast and crew saying they did not intend to offend anyone or insult any religion and political party.

Then Kangana shared her thoughts on Amir’s and Kiran Rao’s divorce, she said why one should change their religion for marriage, then Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case on Kangana Ranaut. She came on Instagram when her Twitter got banned for criticizing Mamta Banerjee.
